Puma Camille – Vogue Femme Workshop

Join us for a lovely meeting to welcome Puma to Ireland, it will be an integration of Puma Camille and the audience who wants to be introduced to Vogue dance. This is optional for people who want to take part in some body movement or just watch and wait for the Q&A led by Mariana Mascarenhas, the producer and one of the organiser’s of this project with Quilombo Terra will be asking questions about Puma’s journey and the importance of Puma’s approach connecting these two styles of resistance and rebellion. Capoeira has its roots in resistance against slavery, while voguing celebrates the emergence of queer identities in 1980s Harlem. As a resident of The Dean Arts studio, the artist Alessandra Azevedo alongside 5 Lamps Arts Festival are bringing Puma as a way to celebrate Black History month during Alessandra’s residency.
