STATEMENT
Breaking the rectangle presents infinite compositional possibilities, so that every painting becomes undeniably my own subjective response to what we call observed reality.
Owen de Forge is a visual artist from Dublin. His paintings depict social life in Ireland with explicit subjectivity, often blurring the line between reality and fantasy.
His work has appeared in solo and group exhibitions throughout Ireland, including The Hennessy Craig Award Exhibition (RHA, Dublin, 2022), Twentysomething (Birr Theatre & Arts Centre, Offaly, 2021), and The 191st Annual Exhibition (RHA, Dublin, 2021).
His work is in public and private collections, including The OPW Irish State Art Collection, NI Civil Service Art Collection, and Trinity College Dublin’s University Art Collections.
